From quad biking in the desert to hiking in the Atlas Mountains, if you favour something a bit more high octane whilst in Morocco, there’s plenty of exciting things to do in Marrakech!

Whilst the vibrant souks are an unmissable thing to experience when visiting Marrakech, you may want to escape to enjoy some serious zen at one of Marrakech’s most famous botanical gardens, Jardin Majorelle.

It’s an instagrammers dream! From the striking electric blue building to the smorgasbord of lush palm and bamboo trees and cacti,  if you’re travelling by bus, it’s just a short walk from the Boukar Majorelle stop, add all your transport options to your Pinboard so you can keep track of where you need to go and when.

TOP TRAVEL TIPS

Here are our top three travel tips when planning a trip to Marrakech:

  1. When it comes to ensuring you get your hands on those all-important tickets to the top attractions and those must-visit restaurants, it’s vital to plan your days prior to arriving in Marrakech.

The most popular experiences and restaurants can get booked up, particularly in the busier periods of the year. Get ahead of the game and add all the things you want to see and do to your Marrakech Pinboard. Search and add all the restaurants you want to eat at to the ‘Eat & Drink’ section of your Pinboard, then plot in when you want to visit and make those all-important reservations!

  2. Haggle, haggle, haggle! If you don’t enjoy some light-hearted negotiations with a shop keeper in a souk, have you even been to Marrakech?!

The art of bargaining over prices is all part of the Marrakech experience and will work in most places other than the obvious (restaurants, taxis etc) the general rule of thumb is to have fun with it and only pay what you are prepared to part with!

  3. Dress appropriately - ladies are advised to wear clothing that covers their shoulders and knees whilst out and about, particularly if you are in the souks, whereas for men, knee-length shorts or trousers are advised.

Many of Marrakech’s streets and alleys are uneven and are made of cobblestone, so trainers or flat shoes are best to avoid achy feet.
