Why you should visit Miami

World-class hotels, incredible beaches and a lively arts scene, Miami is full of charm and it goes without saying that Miami is one of the biggest party destinations in the world, even Will Smith sang that you need to ‘party in the city where the heat is on!’ It also offers endless sunshine too!

From the art-deco delights and hipster cafes to the vibrant rooftop bars and innovative art galleries, if you are planning a trip to Miami, here’s what you need to add to your Miami travel itinerary!

What to see in Miami

What to see in Miami

If you love street art, then make sure you head on over to the Wynwood Walls where you can feast your eyes on Miami's most Instagrammed place.

It's an outdoor ‘gallery’ of artwork by graffiti artists and muralists that spreads across warehouses and shop exteriors. It will only take twenty-thirty minutes or so to see everything, but the Wynwood Walls are on everyone’s Miami travel itinerary as it’s such an essential part of Miami’s culture.

Where to stay in Miami

We couldn’t be more excited to see that one of our favourite Miami hotels is having a sale. The stylish Gabriel Miami Downtown Curio Collection by Hilton is offering 3 nights for just £418 (a saving of 20%!)

It’s centrally-located and is within walking distance to some of the city's top attractions. The decor is achingly-cool with scandi-style neutrals interwoven with maximalist art. The rooms are really spacious and come with espresso machines and there’s even a great pool!

TOP TRAVEL TIPS

Here are our top three travel tips when visiting Miami

1) Whilst Miami is synonymous with its beautiful beaches and vibrant downtown location, if you have the time to do so, make sure to add exploring some of Miami’s alternative neighbourhoods to your trip planner. There’s so much more to Miami than just the beach (but it’s a great place to start!) It has a unique blend of international influences, especially from the Caribbean and Latin America, so why not pay a visit to cool neighbourhoods like Little Haiti and Little Havana too?

2) Consider hiring a car when visiting Miami, if you are planning to just stick around Downtown Miami and its surrounding areas, you can get around easily via the Metrorail or you can use the free Metromover which takes you just slightly north and south of the city centre. But, if you do want to venture further and don’t want to take the bus, you might want to hire a car which will really give you the freedom to explore Miami to its fullest!

Alternatively, you can download a rideshare app which is also a very cost-effective way of getting about.

3) Going clubbing or to a fancy bar? You may want to review the dress code before you go. Most of Miami’s nightclubs and lounges typically have a strict dress code, especially the ones in Downtown and South Beach. Check out the dress code in advance, but as a rule of thumb, most clubs and bars tend not to accept flip flops, tank tops, shorts etc.

If you love to dress to impress, then you are in luck when it comes to Miami’s nightclubs!
